Premiere Western Artist Showcase
Presented by Llano County Historical Museum

“Western Trappings on the Llano” grew out of a small group of Llano County Historical Museum board members in a brainstorming session back in 2013. Led by Carl Shannon, and assisted by Charles Wendt, a noted and accomplished spur maker, the group took on the daunting task of planning and presenting to the people of Llano a show with the finest in custom gear and original western art.

Now in its fourth year, “Trappings” will showcase 121 pieces of one-of-a-kind western art created by 54 accomplished and recognized artists. The various types of art are comprised of custom gear and art, woodworking, leatherwork, metalwork, sculpture, pottery, jewelry and textile art. This year, artists will be represented from 10 states along with several local artists.

The Llano County Historical Museum will host a “Meet the Artists Reception & Preview Sale” on October 7, 2016, at the museum. Tickets are required for this event, which will be attended by many of the artists, as well as members of the community who appreciate distinctive western art. Tickets may be purchased at the museum, online at www.WesternTrappings.com or by calling Charles Wendt at 512/557-2229.

Saturday, October 8, 2016, will feature the first full day of “Trappings”, beginning with a Cowboy Breakfast at the Museum from 8:00 to 10:00am. All pieces of art will be on display at the Llano County Historical Museum, located on the banks of the beautiful Llano River at 310 Bessemer Avenue. The museum setting lends an old-time Western flair to the exhibition with the intent to promote our western culture and heritage.

Beginning at 5:00pm on October 8, auction pieces from all the artists will be on display at the American Legion Hall at 200 Legion Loop in Llano. The Museum Benefit Auction will begin at 6:00pm, with refreshments and beverages provided. The live auction provides an entertaining way to acquire the finest in original western art. Proceeds from the sale of the auction pieces will enable the Llano County Historical Museum to continue to bring quality exhibits and displays to our local community.

The “Western Trappings” exhibition will be on display from October 7, 2016, through November 19, 2016. Make plans now to attend. For information on all the events, go to www.WesternTrappings.com or find us on Facebook.
