HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY LEO!
Leo Osterhout celebrated his 100th birthday on Friday, Sept. 17. He is a resident of Henry House in Blanco and was joined in the celebration by his son, Danny Osterhout, who is also pictured. He was born in Independence, Kansas, a century ago. Osterhout is a veteran of World War II, joining the Navy in January 1942, soon after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He is also a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Osterhout moved to Blanco soon after his son, Danny, moved to town in 2014. Celebrating America in 2020, Osterhout told the BCN in a story about his military service, “It’s the only place for me. There’s no place like America, and everything that you want and need is here.” Happy birthday Leo Osterhout!
