Acosta qualifies for Gran Prix state tennis tournament
Cecilio Acosta III, Blanco High School freshman, has qualified for the Gran Prix State Championship Tournament at John Newcombe’s “Newk’s” Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels Friday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 12. Acosta accumulated points in Gran Prix Tournaments in the boys’ 14 singles division and qualified for the Capital Area Tennis Association Master’s Tournament in Austin in August. The top two finishers in the master’s tournament qualify for the state tournament. Acosta took second place to advance to the state tournament this weekend.
