Historic preservation: Do you need a COA?
What is a COA? “A Certificate of appropriateness is simply a document stating that the proposed work is appropriate for the historic district and meets criteria in the local code.” Before you make exterior changes, order and install any signs, build or demolish a building, or need a zoning variance or rezoning of a property in the Blanco downtown historic district, you are required to apply for a certificate of appropriateness (COA).
