A TREE...FOR TOMORROW
Members of the Blanco High Senior Class planted a bigtooth maple tree in the southwest corner on the grounds at the Old Blanco Courthouse last Saturday to commemorate the achievements of the BHS Class of 2021. The idea was conceived by a group of seniors that wanted to do something meaningful to celebrate their upcoming graduation and to say thanks to the community that supported them through their years in Blanco. They decided to plant a tree at the courthouse, the center of the community and an iconic landmark, as the perfect tribute. The seniors hope it will be something the entire community can watch grow and the students can take pride in it as the years go by. The group was thrilled when leaders at the Old Blanco County Courthouse applauded their idea, eagerly accepted the offer, and even attended the planting. It turned out to be a pleasant interaction between civic leaders and students and both expressed hope that this is the start of a fine tradition.
