JV team wins Wimberley tournament
The Blanco junior varsity baseball team won the Wimberley JV Tournament Saturday, March 6. The team defeated Canyon Lake 2-0. The winning pitcher was Cooper Chase with seven innings pitched and 13 strikeouts. The Panthers beat Thorndale 8-7. Mitchell Dalland was the winning pitcher. In the final game, Blanco outscored Wimberley 4-3. Carson Smith was the winning pitcher. In the Thorndale game Dalland hit a walk-off RBI single. Preston Guinn went five for eight through the three games, with four RBI and two stolen bases. Guinn was the tournament MVP. Chase, Dalland and Smith were all-tournament selections. The JV team is 3-2 on the season.
