Two have filed for Blanco city offices as of Monday afternoon. Rachel Lumpee has filed to run for mayor, while Matt Herden has filed to run for Place 1 on the city council. The office of mayor has been vacant since Martha Herden resigned from the office last April. Martin Sauceda, councilman in Place 3, has led the city since that time from his position as mayor pro-tem. Place 1 on the city council is currently held by Keith McClellan.
