NIGHT SKY RECOGNITION
On behalf of the Hill Country Alliance, Wayne Gosnell, left, of the Blanco County Friends of the Night Sky presents certificates of appreciation to Martin Sauceda, mayor pro-tem of the City of Blanco, and Connie Barron of Blanco’s Gem of the Hills Community Center. The certificates, presented at the Dec. 8 Blanco City Council meeting, recognized the support of the Blanco City Council and the Gem of the Hills for the Hill Country Night Sky Month of October. During the month, 35 individual events celebrating the night sky were held in communities all across the Hill Country. Additionally, 29 formal proclamations of support for night sky preservation were made by city and county governing bodies throughout the area.
