Blanco Elementary celebrates Red Ribbon Week in style
A “Be Drug Free” event was held Oct. 20 at Blanco Elementary School, in anticipation of Red Ribbon Week. A helicopter landed on the playground and classes were able to take photos in front of it.

It’s that time of the year again, Red Ribbon week! The Red Ribbon Campaign is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug and violence prevention awareness campaign observed each year Oct. 23-31 and is currently the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign in the nation. On Oct. 20, the Texas Joint Counterdrug Task hosted a “Be Drug Free” event on the Blanco Elementary School playground.
