Workforce solutions delivering virtual services and expanding in-person services

For 30 years, Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area has been assisting job seekers and businesses in Blanco County. Workforce Solutions is proud to be a partner with the Blanco County Community Resource Center (CRC) and to provide computers and equipment for individuals to look for work at the CRC.

Workforce Solutions staff will also meet with job seekers and employers at the CRC by appointment.

In addition, with COVID-19, Workforce Solutions has transitioned to offering job seekers assistance over the phone and through virtual technology for workshops and other services.

An important resource available online at Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area’s website is Jobs Now, which includes job listings for Blanco, Burnet, and Hays Counties and a calendar of online workshops to assist with resume writing and interview skills.

A new opportunity for employers and job seekers is Workforce Wednesdays, a virtual job fair. Employers staff a virtual booth where job seekers can learn about opportunities and apply for jobs. Job seekers can register through the Workforce Solutions Events page at www.workforcesolutionsrca.com/calendar. Employers who are interested in participating can reach out to the Business Services Team at [email protected].

“For folks who are out of work, COVID-19 has made it a difficult time to figure out the next step,” said Diane Tackett, Chief Operations Officer for Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area. “To meet this need, we’ve launched Metrix Learning, an online way to build job skills, explore career options, and prepare for their job search.” To learn more about Metrix Learning and other opportunities to improve job skills, call (844) 344-2780.

The CRC serves all residents of Blanco County at its 206 S. Highway 281 location in Johnson City. Staff is available to take calls, make appointments, and provide referrals, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Please call (830) 868-0208.
