The annual homecoming parade and pep rally for Blanco High School has been canceled this year due to COVID-19 concerns.
BHS Principal Patrick Hinson announced the decision Monday.
“Due to COVID regulations, we have decided to cancel the Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally which would normally take place on the Wednesday of Homecoming Week,” he wrote in an email to parents, which was also posted on the BISD Facebook page. “This was definitely a difficult decision but we felt it was in the best interest of everyone involved while we continue to try and maintain the health and safety of not only our students but the public in general. We look forward to reinstating it bigger and better next year!
“We are working on an event for our homecoming nominees and their families for that Wednesday night which will also serve as a practice run for the halftime program on that Friday. Details will be forthcoming once we finalize all the homecoming nominees at the end of this week.”
