The Lady Panthers wrap up pre-district play this week. After hosting the SA Saints Home School Sept. 15, they travel to Burnet on Friday. District games kick off Sept. 22, when Blanco will tangle with the Comfort Deer.
“It’s hard to believe that we only have two games left in the pre-district. Time has flown by,” said Olivia Atchley, senior setter. “We have definitely had a challenging pre-district as we played some tough teams. But I’m very thankful for this time with my team as we have meshed, learned how to be great teammates through hard games and grueling practices, and have a lot of fun at the same time!
“As we approach our opening district game against Comfort, we are ready for revenge from last year when they kicked us out of the playoffs. A goal we have set for our district season is to be district champs, we will achieve this by really focusing every day in practice and working together as a team and not for ourselves.”
