The annual ‘Raise the Roof” fundraiser for Twin Sisters Dance Hall has been canceled for 2020.

The board announced the decision Saturday, and also stated that the historic dance hall must remain closed until further notice.

“Before we are inundated with opinions and suggestions about opening, please know how hard we have tried! Please know that we at Twin Sisters are in a unique situation as a “bar” and a non profit. Our TABC license and lack of funds make this decision our only option at this time,” the announcement on Facebook read.

The announcement stated that the board has something “in the works” to raise funds for the dance hall, and to expect an announcement on that in the near future.

“We are also incredibly blessed and grateful for our friends who have sent in donations both big and small! We are also thankful for every prayer and every heartfelt note we have received since March! Please keep them coming!!! We hope to see you all very, very soon!”
