The Blanco Panther football team bursts out of quarantine onto the field Friday, Aug. 28 on the road against the Yorktown Wildcats. Senior Baylor Smith (12) is the first Panther to break through the “Straight Outta Quarantine” run through sign. It was the first varsity boys athletic contest since the coronavirus outbreak this spring. Volleyball was the first athletic team to get underway, which the Lady Panthers did in the middle of August. The first home football game is Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Shiner, the top-ranked team in Class 2A.
