The Blanco County Wild Game Dinner has been canceled for 2020, the sale committee announced Saturday.
“At this time the sale committee has made the decision not to hold the event this year,” the Facebook announcement read. “We want to say a huge thank you to each and everyone of you for your support of our event.”
Though the annual event has been canceled for this year, fundraising efforts will continue. Raffle tickets will soon be available, and the raffle will go through Nov. 7. Anyone wishing to sponsor raffle items should email [email protected] or contact the organization through its Facebook page.
The group also plans to hold a live, online auction, though details are still being worked out at this time.
“Again, thank you all as this event would not be possible without your support.”
Held annually on the first Saturday of October, the Wild Game Dinner in Blanco County has raised funds for the youth of the county. This year’s dinner would have been the 21st annual event. The event usually includes a dinner of various kinds of wild game, along with sides and dessert, and also includes live music, raffles and an auction.
