The mission of the Blanco Police Department is to be responsive to our community, through the proactive enforcement of laws, the protection of life, property, and the maintaining of order while affording dignity and respect to those we serve. As your newly appointed chief of police, I would like to introduce myself.
I first came to San Antonio in 1993 while stationed at the U.S. Navy Police Academy at Lackland Air Force Base. While serving in the Navy, I attended the police academy at San Antonio College and I began my civilian law enforcement career in 1995. I served as chief of police for the City of Fair Oaks Ranch for over 20 years, and was very active in the community.
I believe that community policing is not a catch phrase, but the way policing should be accomplished; and that to be successful, policing must embrace the community it serves.
I have a master of public administration degree; I am a graduate of the Bill Blackwood Leadership Command College and the FBI Command College. In addition to having served on several local and state committees, I currently serve as the vice president for the Texas Police Chiefs Association and serve as chairman of the Best Practices Program.
I retired from the U.S. Navy Reserves as a Command Master Chief and have had the privilege of interacting with many people from all around the world. These experiences have helped me to understand that we need to work together to accomplish our common goal of keeping Blanco a safe place to live, work and visit.
The officers and civilian staff of your police department are dedicated to supporting this idea and providing the utmost of service to the City of Blanco. I can assure you that my attention will be highly focused on working with our community to build partnerships and collaboration to maintain a safe community.
I am both humbled and honored to have been appointed as the City of Blanco Chief of Police. I am grateful for the hard-working team that makes up the department and the leadership of city council who have made public safety a priority. My family and I are excited about becoming part of the Blanco community. I encourage the public to reach out to my office anytime you wish to speak to your chief of police.
I look forward to leading this great department and serving this wonderful community.
