Active COVID-19 cases in Blanco County have increased by 20 in the last week.
The county now has 89 active cases of the virus as of Tuesday morning, up from 69 a week ago, according to numbers released by the Blanco County Office of Emergency Management.
Active cases jumped by 38 during the past three weeks. There has also been one additional recovery in the past week, moving from 11 to 12. There have been four recoveries in the past two weeks.
There are currently 32 cases under investigation, down from 40 at this time last week. There have been a total of 102 confirmed cases in Blanco County since the pandemic began this spring. Blanco County had its first confirmed COVID-19 case announced March 23, while the second confirmed case wasn’t announced until April 2. The numbers in the county remained low through the end of May, when there were only 10 confirmed cases – with six recoveries and one death – as of May 31.
There were just three active cases and 15 under investigation as of May 31. At that point 10 cases had been confirmed, with six recoveries and one death. That number jumped to 11 active cases and 30 under investigation by June 19. Cases went from 32 active and 72 under investigation July 1, to 41 active and 70 under investigation on July 4. The numbers have kept climbing since that time.
