Shelly Wenmohs was acknowledged as the new part-time auditor for Blanco County during the Blanco County Commissioners Court meeting on July 14.
On Tuesday, July 21, Judge Brett Bray swore Wenmohs into office. She will serve the remainder of the two-year term, effective July 1 and ending Oct. 1, 2021.
Wenmohs graduated from Texas A&M University in 1993 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. For over 15 years, the auditor worked for Ernst & Young and ended her career with EY as a senior manager. She currently owns her own accounting business, Shelly L. Wenmohs, CPA, which was opened in 2007.
Her husband’s family has been in Blanco County for four or five generations; the auditor and her family moved to the family ranch Round Mountain in 2001.
Wenmohs has been an active member of Blanco County for many years with different community organizations. She is actively the president of Johnson City ISD school board and has held this position for nine years. Both of her kids attended and graduated from LBJ High School and are currently attending college.
The auditor is also involved with the JC Education Foundation. Community service is very important to her and she’s excited to begin this new chapter of her life.
