There are 69 active cases of COVID-19 in Blanco County as of Monday morning, according to the Blanco County Office of Emergency Management.
Active cases jumped five in the last week and 18 in the past two weeks. Recoveries moved from eight to 11 in the last week. There are currently 40 cases under investigation, compared to 51 a week ago.
The five new confirmed cases were previously cases under investigation, the BCEM said. There have been six new persons under investigation, but 11 cases have been resolved.
Monday’s numbers do not include three confirmed cases reported by BCEM to the state, because not enough information was available at the time, the agency stated. Additional information is being requested at this time.
Blanco County had its first confirmed COVID-19 case announced March 23, while the second confirmed case wasn’t announced until April 2. The numbers in the county remained low through the end of May, when there were only 10 confirmed cases – with six recoveries and one death – as of May 31.
There were just three active cases and 15 under investigation as of May 31. At that point 10 cases had been confirmed, with six recoveries and one death. That number jumped to 11 active cases and 30 under investigation by June 19, and kept creeping up. Cases went from 32 active and 72 under investigation July 1, to 41 active and 70 under investigation on July 4. The numbers have kept climbing since that time.
