Young wins statewide award
Presley Young, a BHS junior, received the statewide player of the week award for Nov.25-29 from the Roy Report Media, a website that covers Texas girl’s high school basketball. Young and three other players from Texas high schools were nominated based on their outstanding play during that week. Young averaged 19 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3.5 steals in Blanco’s wins against Wimberley and Yoakum. The players received votes on an open poll, and Young received 46 percent (2,363) votes to be named the site’s player of the week.
