Blanco Elementary School students went above and beyond to help those in need during the holiday season with a food drive that recently ended with hundreds of food items collected. The Student Council’s annual food drive has been going on for at least a decade, said Mindy Lay, school counselor. “It is a school tradition,” she said. The food drive starts every October, helping to kick off the school’s Red Ribbon Week.
