Blanco ISD will soon have extra help dealing with truancy. The school district board of trustees voted unanimously to accept a grant Monday night to fund a truancy officer/attendance specialist. The part-time position will help principals deal with excess absenteeism and hopefully help curtail them, said BISD Superintendent Clay Rosenbaum. While overall absenteeism isn’t a large problem, Rosenbaum said the school district has an issue with chronic absenteeism among several students.
