Valentin “Val” Martinez, III
(1983-2019)

Valentin “Val” Martinez, III passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, at Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas with his loving family at his side.

Val was born on January 26, 1983, in Fredericksburg, Texas to Christine Romero and Valentin Ramirez, Martinez, Sr. He was a 2002 graduate from Blanco High School and was a certified HVAC tech. Val worked at Vaaler Creek Golf Club where he worked as a maintenance groundskeeper. He loved his family and the Dallas Cowboys, especially BBQ’s on football Sundays or any weekend. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time on the golf course with his cousins, brothers, father and friends. If he wasn’t playing golf he was at the river with his friends or his nieces and nephews. He adored his son Jeremiah and all his nieces’ nephews, even the kids that adopted him as their uncle Val. Val had a heart of gold, he loved music, dancing and making you laugh. You could always count on Val for a smile and a good ‘ole laugh and great memories.

Survivors include his son, Jeremiah Martinez of Blanco; mother and step-father, Christine and Jose Raul Miranda of Blanco; father, Valentin Ramirez Martinez, Sr. of McAllen;; sister, Christina Martinez and her husband Alex Sanchez of Blanco; Alberto Martinez of Burnet, Texas; sister, Lupe Bocanegra of Homestead, Florida and brother, Valentin Ramirez Martinez, Jr. of Homestead; nieces and nephews, Cristiana Rodriguez, Rachaele Sanchez, Matthew Rodriguez, Alexander Martinez and Ariyanna Martinez.

A visitation will take place on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Twin Sisters, Texas.
