Blanco Performing Arts 10th Season

Blanco Performing Arts announces its Tenth Anniversary Season, Celebrations: Great Music, Up Close opening with Julia Pautz, violin, and Tina Chong, piano, on Sunday afternoon, September 8 at 3 p.m. Julia, always an audience favorite, played at the opening concert for the series ten years ago. The program will include Beethoven, Ravel and Piazzolla.

A very special event will be offered for this anniversary season. The Vienna Boys Choir will perform their Christmas in Vienna concert on Tuesday evening, Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. Hear their angelic voices in the intimate setting of the acoustically lovely Uptown Blanco Ballroom in an inspiring concert of popular folk songs, classical masterpieces and beloved holiday favorites.

Audience members who attended James Dick’s sell-out solo recital in the Ballroom in 2017 will remember how he held the audience in rapt attention. We are honored to have him return on Sunday, February 16 at 3 p.m. as part of our tenth anniversary season.

On Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m., Windsync comes to the Ballroom for the first time. Not your usual chamber music ensemble, Windsync is a quintet of wind instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn. Equally unusual for an ensemble, they play completely by memory which allows them to engage more fully with each other and the audience. They are altogether a breath of fresh air.

The Thalea String Quartet will close the season on Sunday, June 7 at 3 p.m. Presently the Young Professional String Quartet at the Butler School of Music at UT Austin, the Thalea is mentored and highly recommended by the celebrated Miro Quartet which has performed several times at Blanco Performing Arts.

All concerts will be in the beautiful Uptown Blanco Ballroom. Only season tickets and tickets for the opening concert will be on sale until September 8.

Tickets for individual concerts will go on sale September 9 at blancoperformingarts.com.

Please note that the new website is almost finished. Check blancoperformingarts.com or call (830) 385-1173 for tickets. Also, find BPA on Facebook.
