Valerie “ZuZu” Boyd, 58 of Blanco, TX went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2019. She passed at her home with her husband by her side and was surrounded by her beloved family.
Val was born to an independent mother, LaVerne Auermuller Bellet on February 27, 1961 in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up briefly in North Carolina, and Florida where she was an avid water-skier and purchased her first horse when she was 13.
After her time in Florida, she moved with her mother and sisters to Cut and Shoot, Texas and continued her love for horses. Shortly after moving, she began her life-time adventures with the love of her life, John O. Boyd.
Val graduated from Conroe High School in 1979. She married her high school sweetheart, John, on December 6, 1986.
Their first child, Amber Michelle was born in 1987, followed by their son, John Oliver II in 1989.
Their family adventures led them around the Conroe area until 1998 when they moved to Dripping Springs, then Johnson City in 2005 and ultimately Blanco in 2017.
Val passionately immersed herself into her role as wife and mother and she radiated joy for her loved ones in all that she did. Family was always her most important priority and she passionately served her loved ones up until she passed.
Even though she was fiercely independent, Val fearlessly lived for her family and God. She selflessly loved and cared for others and her faith was profound. Her greatest joy in life was her husband, children and especially her grandkids who called her “ZuZu”. She loved with every fiber of her being and dedicated her life to creating beautiful memories. She celebrated both small and big victories amongst her loved ones and had a grace and radiance that gleamed brilliantly.
ZuZu trusted the Lord fervently, and took comfort in the Lord’s promises. She shined with Jesus’ love and light. She was an enthusiastic adventurer, creative artist, passionate homemaker, energetic horse lover, spirited cook and baker, devoted gardener, and she was also a better fisherman than anyone else.
Her creative and lively spirit was felt among all who met her, her impact on others was remarkable. ZuZu’s gentle, yet relentless presence will be felt forever.
Val was also a very knowledgeable and wise business woman who successfully established a consulting business in 2011.
ZuZu is survived and loved by her dedicated and loyal husband, John O. Boyd, her daughter, Amber Lee, son-in-love Brian Lee and grandchildren, Ethan, Nolan and Lexi, her son, John O. Boyd II, her daughter-in-love, Summer Boyd, and her grandson Jaxson, her sisters and their spouses, Cindy & Daniel Rogers, Debbie & Randy Tarver and Jackie & John Rachunek, her nieces and nephews, Dan & Nichole, Duby, Dustin, Deric, Kayla and Hunter, her beloved Boyd family, and an abundance of loved ones and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother LaVerne Bellet and her grandmother Evelyn Auermuller.
A celebration of life gathering was held on Saturday at the Boyd residence for close family and friends.
