2018 Post-Season Baseball Awards

Front row, Tyler LaRue. Preiss was named Pitcher of the Year for District 25-3A. Preiss pitched 53 innings, facing 544 batters, giving up 25 walks and 46 hits, with 51 strikeouts. Johnson received the Newcomer of the Year award. Johnson played middle infield and batted a .379 average with 25 hits and 19 RBI. LaRue, named 1st Team All-District, led the team with a .411 batting average. Hunter received 1st Team and led the team with 27 runs scored. Eddie Calzoncit was named 1st Team and led the team with 32 hits, 27 runs scored, and 23 RBI. Justin Wardlow, Will Granberg, and Kelby Cox also were named to the 1st Team. Briscoe and Van Dyke were named 2nd Team All-District. Preiss and Granberg will play at Texas Lutheran University next year. Van Dyke will play at Alvin Junior College.
Van Dyke played in the Valley Hi Optimist Baseball Classic All Star Game in San Antonio on Saturday, June 2. Van Dyke started the game on the mound and went two innings, six up and six down. He also was two-for-two at the plate.
