The Blanco Woman’s Club held its April 2018 meeting last week in the home of Pat Ryan. Diane Schaenert and Rhonda Carr, both master gardeners, presented a program about creating a bee, butterfly and bird-friendly backyard. Bees need a water source, a place to nest and flowering plants. Carr said that almost half of North American birds live or pass through central Texas. Providing plants for food and nesting is essential for maintaining their presence.
