The Blanco Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at the western edge of the district Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017. The call came in at 2:41 p.m. that a house at 157 Sun Down Lane was under construction. The house was located in the Sanctuary subdivision 12 miles west of Blanco near Stonewall was fully engulfed. Johnson City, Stonewall and Bulverde Spring Branch fire departments also responded with a total of 10 trucks and 20 people at the scene.
