Former Texas Rangers or their relatives, dressed in period attire, join C.A. Rust, III as he presents his great grandfather’s story during the Texas Ranger Memorial Cross Dedication for Casper Danz (1819-1887).

On Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at the private Danz Family Cemetery near Stonewall, in Gillespie County, Casper Danz (1919-1887) was honored with a Texas Ranger Memorial Cross Dedication. August 21, 1845, Casper Danz emigrated from Germany to Fredericksburg at the age of 26. Motivated by a desire for land, Casper, a wheelwright and farmer, signed up with The Society for the Protection of German Immigrants in Texas to receive its benefits.
