Blanco Police K-9 Officer Sworn In
K-9 Officer Maverick was sworn in by Mayor Herden as a state of Texas police officer, commissioned by the Blanco Police Department, who presented him with his new badge Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017. Maverick, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois, a type of Belgian sheepherding dog popular for law enforcement and military operations due to its intelligence, strength and agility, joined the Blanco Police force in November 2016.
