To limit the spread of COVID-19, Highland Lakes Creative Arts Paint the Town has been rescheduled from March 30 – April 4 to October 10 – 17, 2020. HLCA is committed to the health and safety of our community and must do our part to help alleviate the spread of this global health risk.

In conjunction with the rescheduling of Paint the Town, we will be hosting our annual Sculpture on Main Street Fest on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17 on the corner of Third and Main Street in downtown Marble Falls. Approximately one dozen sculpture artists will have pieces displayed at this tented event. These artists are members of the Texas Society of Sculptures.

Saturday, October 17 will be Paint the Town’s Quick Draw event, where artists are given 80 minutes to paint en plein air, which is French for “painting outdoors”. The artists will set up their canvas and easel outdoors on designated streets in Marble Falls. After the allotted time, their plein air paintings will be taken to the Lakeside Pavilion where they will be judged by Paint the Town judge, Mark Fehlman.

The rescheduling of Paint the Town has created an artistic weekend in Marble Falls, fulfilling Highland Lakes Creative Arts commitment to bringing art experiences to the community for the benefit of both residents and tourists alike.

In February, HLCA delivered art supplies to Marble Falls High School, Faith Academy and Burnet High School art classes. This fall, prior to Paint the Town 2020, HLCA will donate additional art supplies to these art classes for their students to practice painting en plein air. Art education and appreciation are an ongoing part of our mission. Coordinated with local schools, children benefit from demonstrations, classes and competitions throughout the year.

HLCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative that fosters and promotes the creative and performing arts in the Texas Highland Lakes. For more information about Paint the Town, Street Fest, Sculpture on Main or Highland Lakes Creative Arts, please visit
