HCA will be at Real Ale Brewing Company for a fun day full of friends, fundraising, and Hill Country beer. This year, Real Ale Brewing Company is partnering with the Hill Country Alliance and Blanco County Friends of the Night Sky on two special projects: a permanent Night Sky Quality Meter at the brewery and a single batch of their Full Moon Pale Rye Ale!

Night Sky Quality Meters are nifty devices that measure the darkness of the night sky. These meters allow us to measure the impact of new development on our Hill Country night skies and give us an important teaching tool as we work together to minimize that impact. For added fun, we are naming the meter – and you get to pick the name!

Write in your suggestions for a name below and on Thursday, 1/30 you can vote for the winner. Online voting is open to everyone.

The winning name for the meter will be announced on Saturday, 2/8 at our 2nd Annual Cold Ones for Conservation event at Real Ale Brewing Company in Blanco. Celebrate the night sky with a glass of Full Moon Pale Rye Ale - on tap only - and $1 from every pint sold at the Blanco taproom will benefit our night sky programs.

When: Saturday, February 8th | 11:00 - 4:00 PM

Where: Real Ale Brewing Company

Come support Hill Country night skies and have a cold one for conservation!
