Jonestown to Hold 8th Annual Cajun Cook-Off

The Lago Vista & Jonestown Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the City of Jonestown will be putting on the 2nd Annual Jonestown Cajun Cook-Off on Saturday, April 7 from 11:00 am -7:00 pm at Jones Brothers Park in Jonestown Texas. In addition to the competitive teams competing in Gumbo and Etouffe categories, there will be live music from Off the Grid, Clyde and Mighty Pelicans. Cajun food for sale including boiled crawfish. Other food trucks will be at the event. The Gator Boys, as seen on CMT, will return with two live alligator shows. There will also be a variety of vendors selling their wares Judging for the competition will begin at 3:30 pm and then public tasting will start at 4:00 pm.

“The Jonestown Cajun Cook-Off is one of our North Lake Travis communities’ most successful events,” said Mandi Seale, Committee Chairperson, “What better way to spend a Saturday in Spring than by spending it on Lake Travis and enjoying a free event with a festive Cajun atmosphere, great food, fun, live music and live alligators. We use these events to provide activities for our community and promote tourism.”

The Lago Vista & Jonestown Chamber of Commerce & CVB is a non-profit organization and was founded in 1980. It is headquartered in Lago Vista, TX, and has a current membership of 251.The City of Jonestown Texas was founded in 1985 and is located on the North Shore of Lake Travis with a population of 2,562 in 2009.
