Hey Girlfriends! Who hasn't always wanted to participate in an old fashioned grape stomp just like Lucille Ball in her Italian adventure?! Well, maybe without the grape slinging fight, ruined clothes, and purple hair ...or well, who knows?!

There are 2 wineries in the Hill Country that offer just such an opportunity to celebrate the Grape Harvest! So make plans now to kick off your shoes, hike up your skirts, and "muovere le dita dei piedi in alcune uve" as the Italians might say - "wiggle your toes in some grapes!"

The grape stomps offered at Pedernales Cellars will be July 31– August 2, August 7-9 & August 14-16. Becker Vineyards stomps will be August 29-30 and September 5-6. There will be a special Lucille Ball and The Italian Woman Look Alike Contest! on for their final Sunday, September 6th stomp

Pedernales Cellars fills a claw foot iron tub with grapes under a shady oak tree on their front lawn. It is free to stomp, with the option to purchase a commemorative t-shirt imprinted with your own purple footprints for only $15.

After you stomp you can sit and sip wine while resting your grape stained feet on their inviting tree shaded deck with the incredible view of the Texas Hill Country.

Family loved and operated, Pedernales Cellars is committed to producing exceptional Texas wines . Larry and Jeanine Kuhlken planted a vineyard in 1995 on Bell Mountain. As the vines matured, their children David and Julie along with their spouses Frederik Osterberg and Heather Kuhlken opened Pedernales Cellars. They have been producing award winning Texas wines ever since.

Just up the road, Becker Vineyards offers grape stomping in wooden barrel halves. T-shirts are also available for approximately $18 to step onto with purple feet. Be sure to bring a friend and enter their Lucille Ball and The Italian Woman Look Alike Contest on Sunday September 6th. The covered porch surrounding their winery provides relaxed seating to enjoy a glass of wine afterwards.

The picturesque Becker Vineyards had its beginnings in the 1990's when the Becker family made the first plantings on their 46 acres, resulting in what is now just over a 100,000-case per year winery. People love to purchase a bottle and relax in one of the many sitting areas with their friends enjoying good taste and good company.
